2v8 Returns To Dead By Daylight In Attack On Titan Crossover Update

Dead by Daylight has announced the return of its ever-popular 2v8 game mode, with the cherry on top being the comeback of the Attack on Titan collection.

The comeback runs from April 28th to May 19th and is designed to refine the 2v8 experience further while also delivering new outfits from the Attack on Titan universe. The collaboration first appeared in 2022, with 10 outfits available. This time, there are 10 other brand-new outfits for killers and survivors alike.

The Trapper is headlining the collection by having the Attack Titan become available to wear as a cosmetic item that transforms him into a force of carnage. There is also a trio of brand new very rare survivor outfits for Jake Park, Yui Kimura and Thalita Lyra, which are all themed after characters from the anime. Jake will be able to equip Levi’s classic Cleaning Outfit, Yui can now don Mikasa’s Dark Uniform from the time skip, and Thalita will take on the uniform of everyone’s favourite glutton, Sasha.

Other survivors, like Renato Lyra, Adam Francis, Mikaela Reid, and Haddie Kaur, will also receive their own attire, each with the Queen’s Ball outfit. Feng Min and Meg Thomas are not left out either, as they get access to the Heart of Freedom Outfit. And as one last bonus, the Attack on Titan lobby is returning to Dead by Daylight after a long hiatus.

Getting back to the return of the Dead by Daylight 2v8 game mode, there have been new buffs and updates to the mechanics at play. The Deathslinger now has buffs that increase his overall effectiveness, including lower penalties for reloading or missing shots. The Oni has had a slight nerf, but only to reign in his already vast power, with an increased uptime reduction after downing a survivor while in demon mode.

Cage system updates are perhaps the highlight of the 2v8 return, with many reworks being included. Survivors’ bleed-out timers have been updated to pause whenever the cage relocates, giving players more time to rescue their teammates. Alongside that, the time between cage relocations has also been reduced to match the pace of the game. Additional maps have also been added to the 2v8 map library, with the Temple of Purgation and Ironworks of Misery both being added into the rotation.

As one last bonus, Dead by Daylight players can now earn Attack on Titan-themed awards, which become available after completing a series of quests. The loot includes an Attack on Titan Badge, Banner, and Charm.
