Dead By Daylight Dead By Daylight Goes Big For Its 10Th Anniversary Celebration!

For new players looking to join the chaos for its 10th anniversary, Dead by Daylight was released on June 14, 2016, trapping four Survivors in many horrifying maps, as they must work together to power up generators, free their teammates from the hook, and patch their teammates’ wounds to escape the grasp of the terrifying Killers. Although for players interested in playing the role of a Killer, whether as a horror icon from movies and video games, or an original paranormal entity from the survival-horror world, they must hunt and sacrifice the Survivors to The Entity before they can escape.

Kicking off Dead by Daylight’s 10th anniversary, many Chapters and Collaborations will be arriving from 2026 to early 2027. The first Chapter to arrive during the celebration is the fan-requested Jason, launching on June 16. Alongside the arrival of Jason Voorhees, the Survivor-focused Chapter, The Life Road and the first Indigenous Survivor, Shane Wiigwaas, arrive on June 25. Additionally, the Chorus of Sin, the first-ever Chapter developed in collaboration with the community, launches in August 2027. For those who are fans of the Terrifier franchise, the Terrifier Chapter with Art the Clown arrives in November 2026. Lastly, a Chapter based on The Casting of Frank Stone launches in 2027.

Alongside the upcoming Chapters and Collaboration, fans were given a glimpse into Dead by Daylight’s overhauled visuals, set to release in 2027. With the overhauled visual in development, characters will be reworked with expanded animation capabilities, realistic facial animations, and new voice lines that will be recorded and added over time for all original characters. Additionally, the maps and environments will be reworked with enhanced lighting, shading, textures, Fog and Mist effects, and stronger Entity presence. Lastly, dynamic weather is being added to the title for the first time, featuring light and heavy rain and storms.

In addition to the overhauled visuals, new Game Modes will be arriving in Dead by Daylight in the coming years, with the team sharing early details about 1v1 Mode and Zombie Mode. Also arriving next year, the title is officially opening up to sandbox modding, with the teams working on sets of tools that will allow players to make new Maps, Modes, and more.

Outside of the games, Behaviour Interactive Executive Vice President Stephen Mulrooney has shared more details about the upcoming Dead by Daylight film from Blumhouse, produced by Jason Blum. From everything we know so far, the screenplay by Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick has been completed, and Thordur Palsson will be joining as the film director.
