Dead by Daylight is no stranger to odd crossovers (considering Nicolas Cage), so today they’ve announced a new one with the iconic metal band Iron Maiden.
In surprising news, Behaviour Interactive has dropped a bombshell today on their newest addition to the Dead by Daylight playable roster, Iron Maiden’s iconic mascot Eddie is making it into the title, as an electrifying antagonist. Eddie is present on nearly every single album cover of Iron Maiden, and graces the front of nearly every t-shirt the band sells, so his inclusion in a horror franchise like Dead by Daylight (especially considering his undead nature) is organic. Fans can also dress their favourite characters in ‘very rare’ Iron Maiden t-shirts to show their support at this particular metal show.
Product Manager on Dead by Daylight, Kirby Taylor said “Eddie is such an icon, and flipping through some of his famous appearances to see which Killers we could pair them with was a dream come true. We’re also glad our Survivors can get in on the fun with some killer tour t-shirts. A couple of those even have a little surprise as well, depending on the Survivor, but we’ll leave that up to players to find” regarding the exciting new crossover. There’s even a trailer commemorating the crossover, which can be seen below.
As an extra Iron Maiden-laced bonus, each time a fan equips an Iron Maiden item, the band’s hit song “Fear of the Dark” will echo through teh in-game speakers letting players know it’s time to be afraid. The now available Iron Maiden Collection features Eddie-inspired Legendary Outfits for The Dredge, The Doctor, The Deathslinger, and The Oni. The aforementioned ‘very rare’ tour shirts for all original survivors comes included, but note that its for ‘original’ survivors. Nicolas Cage wont be donning Iron Maiden gear in Dead by Daylight anytime soon.
