After many teases and a personal address to the audience at Summer Games Fest 2023, Nicolas Cage is finally playable in Dead By Daylight‘s public test on Steam.
Ahead of the official July 25th character launch of Nicolas Cage in Dead by Daylight, Steam has unveiled a Public Test Build that allows fans to get into character as the legendary actor on Steam before other platforms. The Public Test Build went live today, with extensive patch notes 7.1.0 from Steam on Dead by Daylight‘s newcomer.
While Nicolas Cage is finally playable, the top of the Steam notes for the Public Test Build issues a mild warning of “players will be able to progress for the duration of the PTB, but none of that progress will make it back to the Live version of the game.” Head of Partnerships for Behaviour Interactive, Mathieu Côté said “Mr. Cage recorded all his voice lines and was involved every step of the way; his dedication to his craft and professionalism is unmatched. We feel very privileged to have him and to our players: you’re in for a treat!” assuring fans they’d get maximum Nicolas Cage exposure in Dead by Daylight.
Key Nicolas Cage Survivor Perks
Steam has provided a list of extensive changes that are coming to the Dead by Daylight Public Test Build, and exclusive Nicolas Cage Survivor Perks are included. The first perk is Dramaturgy which activates when Survivor Cage is healthy and utilizes the Active Ability button. This provides Cage with a 25% Haste buff for 2 seconds and includes a randomized effect of; being ‘exposed’ for 12 seconds, gaining another 25% Haste buff for 2 seconds, Cage screaming loudly but nothing happens, and lastly, the ability to gain a random rare item in hand with random add-ons and drop any held item.
Nicolas Cage’s other ability is Scene Partner, which allows Cage to scream while in the Killer’s Terror Radius. This then reveals the Killer’s Aura for 3-5 seconds, Cage then may scream again(or not), which will reveal the Killer’s Aura for another 2 seconds. His final ability is called Plot Twist, and it allows Nicolas Cage to have a second wind. When injured, a player just has to press the Active Ability 2 button while crouching to enter the dying state, which then allows Cage to recover from the dying state fully, with a 50% Haste boost for 2-4 seconds.
