Joining the lineups of Killers, Behaviour Interactive collaborates with Jason Universe to bring the iconic Friday the 13th slasher, Jason Voorhees, to Dead by Daylight.

As Dead by Daylight gears up to celebrate its 10th anniversary, Friday the 13th fans can rejoice and don their hockey mask, as the highly requested Jason Voorhees enters The Fog to join the lineup of Killers. With Dead by Daylight: Jason launching on June 16, 2026, Jason is set to roam The Entity Realm, wielding his terrifying machete to claim his next victims, with abilities reminiscent of his antics in the films. Alongside the introduction of the new Killer, three new outfits will be available for Jason Voorhees.

Released in June 2016, Dead by Daylight is a survival-horror title, thrusting four Survivors into various eerie locations in The Fog as they will need to communicate and power up generators to escape the Killer’s grasp. However, in the role of a Killer, whether a horror icon or a paranormal entity, the players must hunt and sacrifice the Survivors to The Entity before they can escape.

Following fans’ ever-growing demands since launch, Dead by Daylight is going all out for its 10th anniversary by bringing the highly requested Jason Voorhees to the survival-horror title. Emerging from Camp Crystal Lake, the homicidal maniac lurks in the Trial with stealth and brutality, wielding his trusty machete and two abilities inspired by the films that could leave his survivors second-guessing their actions.

Highlighting Jason Voorhees’ first ability, the Killer is equipped with the Omnipresent Evil, a stealth-based ability referencing Jason popping up randomly in the Friday the 13th movies. Activating the ability, Jason vanishes from the map, granting him increased movement speed to track Survivors by their footsteps, predict their movements, and position himself before he reappears. However, to reappear from Omnipresent Evil, Jason must target Pallets, Vault points, or breakable walls for an explosive appearance, destroying breakable obstacles around him and triggering screams from nearby Survivors.

The second ability Jason Voorhees wields is Improvised Carnage. Across the Map, the Killer can find containers filled with makeshift projectiles to pick up and throw at Survivors, including Lockers fragments, broken Generator parts, shattered Pallets, and Hooks. As the Killer throw projectiles, a successful hit will stagger the Survivor, with a chance to unlock welcome style points under the right conditions. Additionally, if an injured Survivor is struck near a wall, they will be pinned against the wall until Jason claims them. Lastly, the Killer will need to be strategic as they must gather the projectiles individually and can only replenish when Jason enters the Omnipresent Evil.

As Dead by Daylight celebrates its 10th Anniversary, the Senior Creative Director at Behaviour Interactive, Dave Richard, shared: “There was never a question that our 10th Anniversary Chapter couldn’t just be big – it needed to be something really special. When we started to see a path to finally making this partnership a reality for our 10th, we knew then the perfect Jason moment had come. We’re just thrilled the stars aligned and we were able to work with the great folks at Jason Universe to deliver this for our players on such a major milestone for Dead by Daylight.

After 10 years of fans’ demands for Jason to join the Killer lineups in Dead by Daylight, Executive Vice President at Horror, Inc, Robbie Barsamian, said: “Our fans have wanted Jason to enter The Fog since Dead by Daylight launched. We’re thrilled to help make the game’s 10th anniversary celebration even more special for fans, and can’t wait for players to experience the killer new skins and gameplay that only Jason can deliver. Dead by Daylight has always been about nightmare horror stories, and Jason adds a new chapter we hope players will enjoy.”

Before wrapping up, multiple outfits will be available for Jason Voorhees, ranging from his iconic look to having a decaying form. The outfits that will be available are:
