Toronto’s biggest anime convention Anime North takes over the city again from May 23 to 25, 2025, bringing fans, cosplayers, and industry together.
Anime North is an anime convention located in Toronto, Canada, that celebrates anime, manga, music, games, and all other forms of Japanese culture. Anime North 2025 takes place this weekend of May 23-25, 2025, at the Toronto Congress Centre (TCC) and Delta Hotel Airport. CGMagazine is on the scene to report on some of the best cosplays and events taking place at Anime North.
As per usual, the famous not-for-profit, fan-run convention returns with major attractions, activities, and events—including industry guests, fan-run panel presentations, workshops, video presentations, gaming tournaments, musical performances, dances, and cosplay. The show has two shopping areas, an “Artists Alley” for artworks and crafts, and a general “Vendors Hall.” Taking a look at Anime North’s Wikipedia page shows the convention attendance has only been going up more and more each year, hosting more anime fans than the last within the past decade.
Events at the convention will run on the following days and times:
- Friday: 5 PM – 1 AM
- Saturday: 10 AM – 1 AM
- Sunday: 10 AM – 5 PM
This is one of the best ways fans can meet and greet some of the best anime voice actors in the business, among many more talented individuals. Some famous voice actors include the voice of Tony Tony Chopper from One Piece, Brina Palencia; the voice behind the fun-loving vice-captain of the Third Division of the Defense Force in Kaiju No. 8, Sochiro Hoshina, Landon Macdonald; and the famous voice for the Survey Corps’ most reliable member in Attack on Titan, Mikasa Ackerman, Trina Nishimura. Some other major talent coming to Anime North this year is MAMESHiBA NO TAiGUN aka MONSTER IDOL! MAMESHIBA NO TAIGUN will be performing and appearing for the first time in Canada at Anime North 2025. The concert is scheduled for Saturday May 24, 2025 at the TCC. For those who want to connect with some of their favourite VTubers, they can! For those into anime and cars, the Itasha Car Showcase is the place to be. The anime cars return to Anime North 2025 for the Itasha Car Showcase. You’ll be able to find them in the TCC South Parking Lot just north of the Otakubaloo Stage. The stunning showcase features some of the best JDM and Japanese-made cars, representing true Itasha car culture. The awesome organizers, Onita, curate the wonderful lineup that fans return to check out every year.
At Anime North’s core, the cosplays are what catch everyone’s eyes, whether it is random people passing by or lifelong otakus.
