Bioware Set To Drop New Gameplay Demo For Anthem At EA Play 2018

EA Teases Fans with Anthem Combat Reveal Trailer Prior to E3 2018

Bioware is planning on releasing a new gameplay demo for their highly anticipated sci-fi multiplayer RPG title, Anthem.

June is around the corner and that means E3 2018 is almost upon us, with Anthem facing some delays after its initial announcement, Bioware’s Technical Design Director Brenon Holmes has taken to Reddit in order to appease fan concerns by relaying and ensuring that development of Anthem is going smoothly and that it will be on show during the EA Play 2018 Event.

Anthem has a lot to live up to, especially coming from a developer such as Bioware, the developers of the renowned Mass Effect series, and published by EA, whom unfortunately received some severe criticism for their last sci-fi epic, Stars Wars Battlefront II for its copious use of micro-transactions.

With games like Mass Effect: Andromeda suffering due to technical issues and not being able to live up to the series legacy, Bioware’s Anthem might just be their best bet for winning back fans of the RPG genre.

Those wanting to check out Anthem news as it takes place should be aware that EA Play 2018 will take place from June 9th and the 11th, just prior to E3 2018 itself which will begin on the 12th and end on the 14th of the same month.

Reddit user APater6076 took the opportunity to ask Brenon the importance of E3 demos and how much they impact actual game development and the content available in the final product or release version of the game.

Holmes replied, stating, “It’s more a question of focus… the things we’re showing have to get done at some point, but if we weren’t showing it at E3 we’d likely be doing it in a slightly different order.” Implying that EA and Bioware don’t plan on cutting any corners or falling prey to a possible downgrade down the line from tech demo to retail.

Readers interested in the ongoing discussions are encouraged to check out the Anthem subreddit.
