With CES 2022 underway, ASUS announced a range of new products including laptops, accessories, and a striking new 17-inch foldable PC.
ASUS did not pull any punches for CES 2022, bringing a wide range of gear, but in typical CGMagazine fashion, let’s start with the new laptops from the tech giant. The new ROG Strix SCAR powered by the new Intel 12th Gen CPU along with the Strix G that features an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. Both laptops also boast a powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU to keep games running buttery smooth.
If that were not enough, ASUS also announced the new ROG Zephyrus Duo 16, featuring the company’s ‘ScreenPad Plus’ secondary display that is once again a marvel of design and tech. The new ROG Zephyrus G14, G15 and M16 ultraportable gaming laptops were announced, which feature the new ‘Nebula’ display. The new display supports a maximum brightness of 500 nits, a 1440p/120Hz screen and 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut for content creation.
Not to leave CES without announcing a striking new piece of tech, ASUS also announced the Zenbook 17 Fold, the company’s take on a folding PC. Similar to last year’s Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Fold, it looks to make PC computing more interesting, delivering a striking new form factor and concept of how computers can be used. While it is hard to know how well it will work in practice, but the concept sounds very interesting, we will need to get hands on time to really judge how it holds up.
ASUS also announced the latest in their Zenbook range, including the new ASUS Zenbook OLED 14X Space Edition. Featuring top of the line specs, and Intel’s latest 12th Gen CPUs, they offer slim and light power in a truly stunning body. The ASUS Zenbook OLED 14X Space Edition also features a 3.5-inch “ZenVision” OLED screen on the lid, that can be customized to show what ever you desire.
Keeping things interesting on the gaming side, ASUS announced new gaming gear, including the ROG Fusion II 500 and 300 gaming headsets, ROG Swift OLED monitors with up to 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, the ROG Chakram X gaming mouse and the innovative ROG Strix Flare II Animate gaming keyboard.
To round things off, ASUS also unveiled the new Rapture GT-AXE16000 gaming router. The new router broadcasts on a 2.4GHz band, two 5GHz bands and a 6GHz band, with the 5GHz or 6GHz bands available as wireless backhaul if you want to use the router in a mesh setup. It has a new Broadcom Wi-Fi chipset and CPU promising an increase of 18% in maximum throughput. For people that love wired connections, the router includes two 10Gbps ports, one 2.5Gbps WAN port, and four 1Gbps ports.
There is no word when the new products will hit the market, but it is a given ASUS will reveal more over the coming months.
