ASUS is using IFA 2026 to push local AI computing forward, with new ProArt laptops and a mini PC built around NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform.
ASUS arrived at IFA 2026 in Berlin ready to showcase its newest laptop that brings with it the power of local AI. The company unveiled three new ProArt machines built on NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform — the ProArt P16 and P14 laptops and the palm-sized GR1X mini PC — the first ProArt PCs engineered to run demanding AI workloads entirely on-device.
RTX Spark pairs an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with 6,144 cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores with a Grace CPU of up to 20 cores, delivering up to one petaflop of AI performance and as much as 128 GB of unified memory. According to ASUS, that ceiling is enough to run 120-billion-parameter language models, render 90 GB-plus 3D scenes and generate 4K AI video locally, keeping prompts and files on the machine, skipping per-token cloud fees and working even when offline.
“RTX Spark fundamentally changes what creators and developers can achieve with a new AI computing platform,” the company said in its announcement, framing local AI as a way to turn variable cloud costs into steady, controllable capacity.
The hardware makes an equally aggressive pitch for portability. At 12.9 mm thin and 1.77 kg, the ProArt P16 is the thinnest 16-inch ProArt model yet, while still packing a 99 Wh battery and a 4K 120 Hz Lumina Pro OLED display with 1,600 nits of peak brightness and Delta E < 1 colour accuracy.
The 1.48 kg P14 is the lightest ProArt laptop to date, pairing a 3K OLED panel with a 90 Wh battery. Both models come in Nano Black and Neo White, with haptic touchpads and preloaded creative AI apps such as MuseTree and StoryCube. ASUS is also promising agentic workflow integration through ComfyUI.
For desks rather than backpacks, the ProArt GR1X squeezes the same RTX Spark silicon into a 150 x 150 x 51 mm chassis, positioning it as an always-on AI agent computer. A dual-fan cooling system with 218 blades is rated for sustained 24/7 operation, while 10 GbE networking, Wi-Fi 7 and support for up to four 4K displays round out a rather impressive package. No pricing details have been announced yet, but based on similar laptops, you can expect the ProArt GR1X to carry a premium price.
