At Computex 2024, ASUS packed on the laptop announcements, including the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024), with hopes of a new era in AI computing.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) gaming laptop is getting an upgrade with powerful next-gen AMD Ryzen processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPUs. What is more shocking is how ASUS has fit all this power into a 1.49cm device, sitting .20cm thinner than the all-new ASUS TUF A14 and .30cm thinner than the TUF A16.
Though the ROG Zephyrus is an existing line, the 2024 model aims to bring AI computing to a whole new level. The brand-new next-gen AMD chip, the AMD Ryzen AI XDNA 2 NPU, features a built-in NPU for AI acceleration. ASUS is boasting that the ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) is ready to take on AI-enabled applications with its “12 cores, 24 threads, a built-in AMD Ryzen AI XDNA 2 NPU capable of 50 TOPS of AI performance, along with 31 TOPS from the CPU and its integrated Radeon 800M graphics.”
Pairing all of that with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, capable of 321 TOPS on its own at its max TGP of 105 W, gaming and creation has never been more efficient, “For gamers, creators, or engineers, the combined 402 TOPs of local AI processing power available in the G16 will change the way they work and play, enabling multiple AI applications to run simultaneously.”
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus (2024) gaming laptop is kitted with ROG Intelligent cooling, which includes liquid metal on the CPU. There is also a new fiber-and-mesh heat-pipe system with a tri-fan design featuring the company’s second-generation Arc Flow Fans. This is also the first ROG laptop to support Wi-Fi 7 and is stacked with 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory.
Why stop there? What is a gaming laptop without its display? The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) gaming laptop features a ROG Nebula display with an OLED panel supporting NVIDIA G-SYNC. This display is a 2.5K resolution screen with a 240Hz refresh rate and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.
At the end of July, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus will launch with two models:
