After the events of Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have speculated that Deadpool can now fully crossover into the MCU, starting with Avengers: Doomsday, and a post from Ryan Reynolds today made that speculation louder.
Since Deadpool & Wolverine launched in theatres everywhere, fan speculation has hit a fever pitch regarding the possible inclusion of Deadpool in the next one or two Avengers films, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. While there were many scenes to suggest the Merc with a Mouth’s involvement as part of the Avengers (with him asking directly to join them in multiple scenes throughout the film trilogy), fans were certain Deadpool & Wolverine‘s myriad cameos were enough to increase his ‘importance’ to a level deemed worthy of becoming an Avenger.

Today’s teaser posted to Ryan Reynolds’ Instagram account has forced that speculation to hit a boiling point. With a single social media post featuring a vandalized Avengers logo, Ryan Reynolds seems to have told fans it’s not about ‘if’ Deadpool gets into the MCU, it’s about when. The post features an Avengers: Doomsday (or Avengers: Secret Wars) logo, defaced with a red anarchist capital A drawn in marker over the logo. The post includes no captions; it’s just a photo with no input from Reynolds himself.
Like many of the other Deadpool teasers done in the past, this one feels deliberate, and it has driven the internet wild with more speculation. While the comments section is filled with a communal ‘let’s go!’ from fans that are excited to see Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday, other places like Reddit have solved where the logo is from.
In a thread titled “Ryan Reynolds shares a possible ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ tease on Instagram,” fans were quick to spot the logo as part of some release merchandise that launched alongside Deadpool & Wolverine. A link to another Reddit post featuring a family preparing to go see the film from one year ago was featured, and three T-shirts were shown to have that same logo with the exact same anarchist A drawn through it, wrinkles and all.
These shirts were declared as made by the family’s mother, as the caption reads, “It so nice having a mother that can make shirts” under the multiple photos included of the shirts. Below is a screenshot of the Reddit post and Ryan Reynolds’ post side by side.

Fans have taken to the original Reddit post to let the original poster know Ryan Reynolds (allegedly) used the image from their post from one year ago, and the original poster replied, “I know! Just noticed!” While the comments on the Instagram post have been confusingly limited, considering it appears to be a deliberate teaser, comments on the post have been encouraging. Fans are ready for Deadpool to join the MCU. The post could’ve been to gauge fan interest in Deadpool joining the MCU, and if that’s the case, fans are definitely interested. The Instagram post has racked up nearly a million likes as of this article.
While it’s still unconfirmed, Deadpool appears to, at the very least, be asking to join the Avengers again with this post, and it remains to be seen if he will.
