Battlefield 6 Launches Season 4 On July 21, Featuring Top Gun Collaboration

The biggest update to arrive in Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC’s upcoming Season is the collaboration with Top Gun. As part of Phase 2 on August 18, the collaboration brings three characters reprised by the original performers from Top Gun: Maverick, including Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller), Lt. Robert “Bob” Floyd (Lewis Pullman), and Adm. Solomon “Warlock” Bates (Charles Parnell). Alongside the arrival of the popular characters, the update will feature two fighter jets from the film: the F-18 Super Hornet and the F-14 Tomcat. Not to mention, Top Gun-inspired character skins and cosmetics will be available in-game.

Alongside the inclusion of popular characters and fighter jets from the iconic franchise, two new modes will be available during Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC’s collaboration with Top Gun. The new Top Gun-inspired modes that will be available are:

  • Top Gun: Carrier Strike (Battlefield 6) –  Set in the Top Gun universe with the movie characters, voices, and jets. Players across the naval, air, and ground must fight each other in a showdown to destroy the enemy aircraft carrier.
  • Top Gun: Fighter Sweep (Battlefield REDSEC) – A new Gauntlet mission where players partake in a jets-only combat mission, set on a reworked Tsuru Reef map.

As the players anticipate the upcoming Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC collaboration with Top Gun, the Executive Producer of Battlefield 6, Ryan McArthur, shared: “Jets. Adrenaline. The drive to be the best. Battlefield’s unmatched sense of scale is the perfect way to bring Top Gun’s iconic and cinematic aerial combat to life. We can’t wait for our players to experience the update when it hits on August 18 but our collaboration is also just a piece of Battlefield 6’s biggest season yet.”

Another big feature arriving in Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC is Naval Warfare, featuring a dynamic wave system to intensify combat, as players must use the waves to plan their approaches and ambushes. Additionally, two boats arrive at Battlefield 6: the new CB90 patrol boat and RHIB, a combat boat from Battlefield REDSEC. Lastly, the Aircraft Carriers return in Phase 2, with an operational flight deck featuring a catapult jet.

  • Pacific Front (July 21) – The new and largest map as of yet, Tsuru Reef, has been added to Battlefield 6, featuring cliffs, islands, a luxury resort, and an old war bunker, alongside the arrival of a 7.7M NSW RHIB and RCB-90 boats. For Battlefield REDSEC, Ranked REDSEC returns with new cosmetics and adjusted Ranked Points, while removing Vehicle Keycards, Main Battle Tanks, and Infantry Fighting Vehicles.
