The Beatles Movies Reveal First Look Photos at the Fab Four

Sony Pictures has released first-look photos of The Beatles — A Four Film Cinematic Event, giving us a look at each of the four actors in their roles. This includes Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo.

These photos were initially revealed through postcards at various landmarks and music enthusiast spots in Liverpool, the Beatles’ hometown. However, postcards were also delivered to some of the most important locations in the life of the Beatles, in the cities of Hamburg (The Beatles Monument, Cavern Club, Kaiserkeller), Tokyo (Abbey Road Live, Tower Records in Shibuya), and New York (Strawberry Field in Central Park, New York University).

The Beatles is a fairly unprecedented cinematic event, with four different films focusing on the various members of the band, showing their unique perspectives and experiences. All four films are directed by Sam Mendes, best known as the director of Skyfall, and are set to be released in April 2028. This also marks the very first time members of the band and their descendants have given music and life rights to a theatrical feature film.

Writing in The Times in 2025, Mendes explained why he’s taking on the monumental task of a Beatles film quadrilogy.

“As a film-maker, one is always looking to find new ways to look at the past. To turn historical events so they catch the light in new and different ways. My film 1917 was an attempt to do this,” he said, “The Beatles films we are making now also fall into this category. And here again I felt the same portal to the past had been opened.”

The films also have an all-star cast of supporting actors, including Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, James Norton as Brian Epstein, Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, Harry Lloyd as George Martin, David Morrissey as Jim McCartney, and Adam Pally as Allen Klein.
