Behaviour Interactive Opens Another New UK Studio

The Canada-based Behaviour Interactive has seen some rapid expansion over the past couple of years, and now they’ve set their sights on opening a 2nd UK studio.

The new studio will be called Behaviour UK – South, and it will be located in Truro, Cornwall, in the South West United Kingdom. The recently-announced-to-close AntiMatter Games is responsible for Rising Storm and Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, and when their closing was announced to happen this Summer, Behaviour Interactive jumped on the opportunity to recruit the studio’s team to round out the talent at the new South studio. Behaviour aims to right the ship of the recent layoff purge that has happened in all aspects of the gaming industry over the past few months with this new Behaviour Interactive studio.

Executive Vice President of Behaviour’s Services, Wayne Meazza, said “Many truly talented individuals have been undeservedly impacted by the economic challenges that have led to layoffs across the gaming industry,” with “When we learned AntiMatter Games was closing, we jumped at the opportunity to accelerate our strategic expansion by adding the studio’s proven, experienced team. This represented a true win-win situation, particularly given how AntiMatter shared Behaviour’s well-established culture of collaborative ambition” regarding the new studio talent from AntiMatter Games.

However, whether or not the now-named Behaviour UK – South will continue development on their current titles is another question that hasn’t been answered yet, as the previously announced in-development 83 and IGI Origins are AntiMatter productions. Behaviour Interactive has made no commitment to these titles just yet.

AntiMatter Games’ former CEO and now General Manager of Behaviour UK – South, Rich Barham applauds the move with, “We feel very fortunate that we can maintain our home in beautiful Truro, and we look forward to welcoming new members to the team over the coming months and years.”

While the Behaviour Interactive expansion studio Behaviour UK – South continues to get its bearings, fans can flock to the former AntiMatter Games website to see what the studio was working on prior to future UK studio announcements.
