Report: 2K Reviving BioShock

According to a recent report by Kotaku, BioShock could be making a comeback.

The infamous first person shooter, that is beloved for its story and gameplay is supposedly getting a new entry to the series. In the report done by Kotaku, the new Bioshock is glanced over and not really discussed. Due to this, there has been no official announcement from 2K, all we know is that a new game is in fact, in development.

The last game in the series, Bioshock Infinite, came out in 2013. Since then 2K has remained quiet about any sequels. According to Kotaku, the project is being dubbed “Parkside” and being developed by a small team in Novato, California.

According to Kotaku, there is a secret studio located next to Mafia III developer Hanger 13. Some of Hanger 13’s employees have gone to work on the secret Bioshock game. According to the report, the game appears to use the unreal engine like its predecessors.

Bioshock originally came out in 2007 one the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and was ported to the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Since its initial release, the series exploded with a devoted fan base, with the first game being given a 96 on Metacritic.

It is likely we will see details about the new game in the next couple of years.
