An Animated Carmen Sandiego Game Has Been Revealed For Consoles & Netflix

Fans won’t have to wonder where Carmen Sandiego is because a new game featuring the thief is heading to consoles and Netflix.

A new title is coming out from a team-up between Gameloft and HarperCollins, and it answers the question Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? by making her the star of a video game that sits in homes. The new title features puzzle-solving adventure gameplay, and sees the character stop thieves in a way only thieves would know how to. While there are two animated series featuring the red-clad hero, the new game will be based on the animated series Netflix launched back in 2019. A new trailer announcing the title has been revealed, which can be seen below (courtesy of IGN).

Interestingly enough, the new Carmen Sandiego title will launch first for Netflix in Q1 2025, then afterwards it will launch for Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PS4 and PS5. In the Carmen Sandiego game, you will have to deploy all the tools at Carmen’s disposal to take down the evil V.I.L.E. organization, that rescued and trained her in the Netflix series.

In the show, Carmen turns on V.I.L.E. because she learns of their motives, which don’t align with her character after they train her as an agent. This is a notable fresh perspective on the character, as other games that feature the red agent put the player in the shoes of her pursuer, and this one lets you don the red as Carmen herself.

While not much else is known about the upcoming Carmen Sandiego title, IGN confirms the developers have revealed that numerous Easter Eggs will be featured in the title spanning all of her animated exploits on the Netflix series and the original from 1991.

Carmen Sandiego will launch sometime in Q1 2025.
