Set to release in February 2026, Chocobo’s Crystal Hunt Deluxe can be played by two to four players and is meant for quick games—taking roughly 10 to 20 minutes to complete a round. Players must work to get all the elemental crystals by stealing cards from their opponents’ hands. The game’s rulebook has been localized for English, German and French, alongside its standard Japanese language. The game includes:

[Hunt Carts]
•Chocobo x 12
•Fat Chocobo x 5

[Crystal Cards]
•Fire Crystal x 4 / Water Crystal x 4
•Wind Crystal x 4 /Earth Crystal x 4

[Cards for Basic Rule Play]
•Bomb x 4 / Ahriman x 4

[Cards for the Dungeon & Monsters Rule Play]
•Goblin x 4 / Tonberry x 4 / Marlboro x 4
•Cactuar x 4 / Moogle x 4 / Behimoth x 4
•Moogle Coins x 3

[Player Markers]
•Crystal x 4 / Chocobo x 1

The base version of Chocobo’s Crystal Hunt was released around 2016 to mostly mixed reviews from card-game enthusiasts. While several praised the charm and art of the card’s illustrations, they criticized the game’s lack of structure and general random nature. However, the Dungeons & Monsters expansion did improve things a little.

Chocobo’s Crystal Hunt Deluxe will retail at 34.99 USD. Pre-orders for the game are available at the official Square Enix store.
