Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Offers Free Season Pass as Pre-Order Bonus

CI Games Offers Season Pass as Pre-Order

Pre-order bonuses feel more and more like the spectre of a bygone, pre-digital distribution age, while season passes have become fairly common. They’re really two sides of the same coin, the promise of content to come, though pre-order bonuses are typically free, contrasting their DLC focused sibling that typically costs roughly $30.  Luckily, it looks like developer CI Games has found a way to combine the best of both worlds with their upcoming first person tactical shooter Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, by offering the significant season pass as a free pre-order bonus.

The season pass consists of a two multiplayer maps, two exclusive weapons, an all-terrain vehicle, and two major single-player expansions.  On top of that, CI Games intends to bring out some exclusive content and special events throughout 2017. The season pass is said to run for $29.99 USD after release, so the pre-order seems like a pretty nice value.

“We have a long-term investment in our community and believe that this season pass is a huge value to them,” said CI Games CEO Marek Tymiński. “The content within the season pass has variety to it, and we’re committed to provide support and additional content throughout 2017 for our largest game to date. The major part of the edition will be the single player campaign ‘The Sabotage.’ This is one we’re quite proud of where players will follow the story of the separatists and experience everything from the other side of the of the conflict making the story more being in the grey zone than black and white.”

If such an ambitious strategy it could make pre-orders and their bonuses common once again, which is a blessing and a curse. One the one hand, buying something that hasn’t even released is always a gamble, on the other, $30 worth of free stuff is pretty nice. This pre-order bonus is available on PC and Playstation 4 starting Feb. 1, 2017. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is slated for release on April 4, 2017.
