CyberConnect 2 announce Montreal based studio, new game

Montreal is quickly becoming the place to be for game studios, and today CyberConnect 2, the developer behind Asura’s Wrath announced they are working on a new game and plan to open a studio in Montréal Canada, CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama told Famitsu.

In the interview, Matsuyama explained that the Monreal studio will be a full-scale studio that will help the company expand its reach worldwide. While the details about the new studio are sparse at this junction, there will be more details as progress on the studio moves forward. With more developers expanding the base of talent, it will only help enrich the experience for players.

During the interview Matsuyama also discussed “Project Venom” a new game being worked on by the Japanese based developer. There are are few details at present on what gamers should expect from the game, but judging by the comparison Matsuyama makes to Nausicaä with the early concepts this could be an exciting title for fans of the Studio Ghibli aesthetic.

As of right now CyberConnect2 is looking to self-publish “Project Venom” for the PlayStation4, PC and Xbox One sometime in 2017.
