Kojima Productions and 505 Games will be bringing the epic Death Stranding to PC on June 2, 2020.
The PC version of the game will come with some differences from the PS4 version, including a “high frame rate” and photo mode, as well as support for ultrawide monitors. It will also come with content from the Half-Life games as a fun crossover. All digital sales of Death Stranding on PC will also come with an expanded soundtrack with ten previously unreleased tracks, a digital art book with selections from the official Titan Books collection, plus in-game cosmetics that can be unlocked through game progression.
Death Stranding will hit PC on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, so you can go with whichever digital storefront is your particular favorite. Contrary to what you might expect, the Half-Life extras will be available on both platforms, so you don’t need to worry about any retailer exclusives. However, pre-orders do come with some additional exclusives and HD wallpapers.
Kojima’s highly anticipated post-Konami project, Death Stranding has been the subject of much speculation and acclaim. The game released back in November for PS4, which introduced players to Norman Reedus‘s Sam Porter, who needs to travel across a post-apocalyptic wasteland and save humanity from impending annihilation one package at a time. The game also features appearances by Mads Mikkelson (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Léa Seydoux (Spectre), Academy Award winning director Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water), along with comedian Conan O’Brien, and The Game Awards’ own Geoff Keighley.
Death Stranding took home several awards last year after several positive critical reviews, including The Game Awards titles for Best Studio, Best Score, and Best Performance (Mads Mikkelson). Our own Joel Couture gave it a score of 7.5/10, saying “At times, I have hated every moment spent making deliveries, and yet I have felt strong connections with the game that I’ll never forget.”
Death Stranding is available now for pre-order on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
