Deus-Ex in the works for next-gen

Deus-Ex in the works for next-gen 1

A new Deus Ex game has entered the production phase for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 according to Eidos Montreal who made the announcement yesterday.

Studio head David Anfossi said the team is looking forward to the project, especially after the success  of the latest entry in the series Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which came out in 2011.

“It took us four years to learn how to create a unique Deus Ex experience with Human Revolution, and it was important for me to keep this knowledge within the franchise,” David said on Eidos’ community blog.

An image was also released alongside the announcement, portraying the “dark and dystopian vision,” of the upcoming game. The untitled next-gen Deus Ex game is to be a part of a new concept for Eidos Montreal called the Deus Ex: Universe, which aims to create an “ongoing, expanding, and connected game world built across a generation of core games.”

David added they hope to deliver content that expands the franchise regularly across several connected Deus Ex games.

Combined with what’s found in the game, the experience will be extended through tablets, smartphones, books, and graphic novels.

For the time being, fans of the series and newcomers alike can look forward to the near future as Deus Ex: Human RevolutionDirector’s Cut launches October 22 for the Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
