Today, EA Sports announced the cover athlete for the next iteration of their yearly football game, EA Sports FC 25. England National Team and Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham will join the likes of Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Kylian Mbappé, and more as the cover athlete of this year’s title. In addition, Bellingham will also be featured as the cover athlete for EA Sports FC Mobile.
As always, EA Sports FC 25 will feature a Standard Edition cover and an Ultimate Edition cover. The Standard Edition cover will feature Bellingham on his own, in his iconic Belligol celebration, with the image being captured from a match where Bellingham scored the stoppage time winner at Real Madrid’s home, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
As for the Ultimate Edition, EA Sports has opted to include four additional players, both past and present to accompany Bellingham on the cover. Italian goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon, Spanish superstar and current Ballon d’Or Féminin holder Aitana Bonmati, French midfield and coaching icon Zinedine Zidane, and English and worldwide icon David Beckham will all see themselves on the cover of EA Sports FC 25 this year.
To round out the Ultimate Edition cover, EA Sports has elected to include 17 of the highest-rated and most coveted trophies in football, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Women’s Champions League, Premier League, Serie A, LA LIGA, Ballon d’Or, Liga F, Ligue 1, and more, each of these trophies holding special significance to each of the Ultimate Edition cover athletes.
After completing a move from German powerhouse Borussia Dortmund to Spanish giant Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, Bellingham exploded onto the scene, securing the UEFA Champions League, Supercopa de España, and LA LIGA EA SPORTS at the club level, as well as multiple individual accolades such as the LA LIGA Player of the Season and the Golden Boy and Kopa Trophies as the best player in the world under the age of 21.
“I played this game with my brother all the time growing up, and I’ve always thought about how incredible it would be to one day be featured on the cover,” said Jude Bellingham. “There have been so many iconic players on the cover over the years, and I am delighted to be the most recent English player to be bestowed with this honour since 2011. I’m also truly honoured to be featured on the cover of Ultimate Edition with true legends of the game, both past and present in Beckham, Bonmatí, Buffon and Zidane.”
