FromSoftware Reveals Elden Ring: Nightreign – A Co-op Journey Through Threatening New Realms

Welcome Back To Limveld

The Game Awards 2024: ELDEN RING Unveils NIGHTREIGN

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have announced the latest expansion to Elden Ring, Nightreign, exploring new locations and fighting new bosses in a co-op setting, launching in 2025.

With the success of Elden Ring and its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, FromSoftware has unveiled its latest expansion for players to continue their adventure called the Nightreign. A multiplayer co-op showcasing new weapons such as the grappling hook and wings for an ariel advantage, a new location in The Lands Between, and a battle the players are thrust into without a choice.

Releasing in 2025, Elden Ring: Nightreign is about the players being thrown back into action without a choice, as there is a new threat that cannot be avoided. Teaming up with three players or taking it on solo, the players must survive a three-day-and-night cycle, making split decisions about combat and exploration across the changing map to become strong enough as you must take on the challenging bosses at the end of each day. As they return to the Roundtable Hold, players will get to choose from eight characters as each will have unique abilities and powerful ultimates.

If victorious during their battle against the nightly boss, they will need to prepare for a bigger challenge and each of the sessions will culminate on the third night when they have to face the Nightlord. With an option to fight the night alone, it would be best to fight in a group as the Nightfarer will need to learn how to cooperate to take down the challenges and combine their unique abilities. Yet if you’re unsuccessful in your run, the game will grant players a relic for an option to customize and upgrade their characters to their preferred play style.

Shifting to the gameplay, Elden Ring: Nightreign, the players will never experience the same run twice as the enemies, rewards, and Limveld will always shift and evolve in each of your sessions. Defeating more powerful enemies and taking on greater risks on the maps will reward the players with more powerful weapons and Rune rewards. Grace, as usual, the players will need to find a chance to level up and gain power, and each session-based adventure will have players playing through an open-air dungeon and opportunities to grow their stat bonuses. Each of the successful runs against the night will bring the players closer to defeating the Nightlord and unveil the story behind each Nightfarer.

Elden Ring: Nightreign will be available in 2025 on the PS4/5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PC (via Steam), and soon the players will return to the twisted world of Limveld to take down the Nightlord as a team.
