Epic Universe Theme Park Unveils First Look Photos

Universal’s Epic Universe is shaping up to be its most ambitious theme park yet, offering five immersive worlds with more than 50 attractions.

Theme parks around the world are always striving to create more immersive and innovative experiences. Universal has released new photos of its most ambitious theme park yet, Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe. The park, set to open on May 22, 2025, will feature five themed worlds. Some of these include The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic and Super Nintendo World. Single-day tickets and multi-ticket packages for Epic Universe went on sale last Thursday.

“The new theme park will present a level of immersion and innovation that is unmatched as it unlocks the portals to five astounding worlds: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Dark Universe—each filled with extraordinary adventures that go beyond guests’ wildest imagination,” Universal said in a news release Monday, as reported by USA Today. The company also highlighted that the park, centered around these five worlds, will feature more than 50 attractions.

But how much will this all cost guests? So far, it does not appear to be priced too high. Single-day tickets to Epic Universe start at $139 and can go up to $199 during peak periods. Annual passholders can purchase single-day tickets at a discounted price. Universal also announced that guests can now buy two-day tickets. Here are the options:

  • 1-Park 1-Day Base, Plus 1-Day Universal Epic Universe Ticket: One day of access to Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day of admission to Universal Epic Universe.
  • 2-Park, 1-Day Park-to-Park, Plus 1-Day Universal Epic Universe Ticket: One day of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day admission to Universal Epic Universe.

While there are five different worlds within the Epic Universe theme park, there is an overarching story that connects them. Every guest will first pass through Chronos to enter the initial world, Celestial Park. Here is a breakdown of each of the theme park’s worlds, based on the information released so far and the latest photos.

Celestial Park

Celestial Park will feature lush gardens, a “wet play area,” a grand carousel and Stardust Racers, a dual-launch racing roller coaster that reaches speeds of up to 62 miles per hour. From Celestial Park, visitors can enter the four other worlds through themed portals. This setup differs from Disney’s theme parks, which have multiple entryways to various sections. At Epic Universe, every guest must pass through Celestial Park before gaining access to the other areas.

How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk

Based on the latest photos, the How to Train Your Dragon-themed world, Isle of Berk, appears to be a near-to-scale recreation of the Viking village from the movies. It includes a sprawling lagoon, two 40-foot-tall Viking statues and a bustling village set above the sea. This world will feature three rides, themed restaurants and shops where guests can dress as Vikings or adopt their own dragon. Visitors can truly feel like a Viking of Berk, just like Hiccup and Astrid.

Dark Universe

Epic Universe draws inspiration from some of Universal’s oldest intellectual properties, spotlighting classic monsters such as Dracula and Frankenstein. The “shadowy village” within this area is called Darkmoor and resembles a Transylvanian manor or an eerie, old European estate. “The icon of this ominous world is Frankenstein Manor, where guests will venture deep into its catacombs and face a horde of enraged monsters on Universal Orlando’s most chilling attraction ever—Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment,” Universal said.

Super Nintendo World

The next stop in Epic Universe’s lineup is the highly anticipated Super Nintendo World, based on Nintendo’s most famous video game characters. Guests will enter this vibrant, digital-inspired world through a large green pipe—an iconic element from the Super Mario Bros. games. Inside, visitors can explore landmarks like Mt. Beanpole, meet characters such as Peach and Donkey Kong, and use an interactive Power-Up Band to collect digital coins and unlock hidden surprises. The immersive design aims to bring the Super Mario Bros. game world

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic

Since the debut of the Harry Potter books, films and video games, the wizarding world has captivated fans worldwide. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic merges elements from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts to create a magical experience. Guests will begin in a Muggle park in Paris before heading to the 1920s-era Place Cachée, a hidden shopping district featuring restaurants and a full-scale theatre experience, Le Cirque Arcanus, in wizarding Paris. From there, they can journey to the British Ministry of Magic to witness the trial of Dolores Umbridge on the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry rid
