The second season of Amazon’s smash-hit series Fallout is adding a surprising new cast member: none other than Macaulay Culkin.
Culkin is, of course, best known for his iconic role as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. One of Fallout‘s best qualities is how it perfectly captures the bizarre world of the game, with a mix of pseudo-seriousness and madcap zaniness. While few details are known about Fallout Season 2, a new report from Deadline confirms that Culkin will be joining the show in a recurring role, playing a “crazy genius-type character.”
That doesn’t provide a lot to go on, but the Fallout games are filled with mad scientist-type characters inhabiting its post-apocalyptic wasteland, so it’s easy to imagine Caulkin playing something similar. Caulkin already has some experience working with Prime Video, as he recently voiced a character for the platform.
When Fallout debuted, it quickly became one of Prime Video’s top three most-watched titles, and went on to rack up 15 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. Fallout is based on the video game series of the same name, where a nuclear war has ravaged the world with radiation. A group of survivors housed themselves in secure “Vaults” but emerge to a world that has survived and looks much, much different.

Caulkin will join the cast of returning characters, including Ella Purnell as Lucy, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul, and Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.
Fallout Season 2 doesn’t currently have a release date for Prime Video. However, the showrunners have previously said the series will release “as fast as humanly possible.”
