The long-awaited sequel Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time finally has a release date, coming to PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 21.
Alongside the date, Level-5 has also released a new trailer and announced a Deluxe Edition version of the game. The trailer gives a good overview of the game’s various systems and activities, including all the different “lives” or jobs you can take on. Fantasy Life i is a bit like Animal Crossing mixed with Final Fantasy, giving you an island to build and customize while you explore areas and take on enemies and dungeons.
The first Fantasy Life game released on Nintendo 3DS in 2012, then made its way to the West in 2014. It was received fairly well by both critics and fans. By comparison, Fantasy Life i looks like it drastically expands the customization and building options and features a larger world to explore.
In North America, Fantasy Life i will only be available digitally, there won’t be any physical edition. The standard version will retail for $59.99, while a Digital Deluxe Edition will run $69.99 and net players a Napdragon Mount, Napdragon Weapons, and Iconic Outfit Pack. You can also upgrade to the Deluxe Edition at a later date for $13.99. Finally, anyone who pre-orders the game will receive a New Adventurer’s Pack, which includes the following.
- Flutter Charm: An accessory that increases Exp earned.
- HP Potion + x10: Heal HP
- SP Potion + x10: Recover SP
- Power Aid + x10: Temporary Attack UP effect.
- Resistance Aid + x10: Temporarily Defense UP effect.
- Life Cure + x5: Revives & Heal HP
- Great Bomb + x5: Damage to a massive area
- Fireworks x5: Sets off traditional fireworks.
- Courtship Fireworks x5: Sets off heart-shaped fireworks.
- Celestia’s Gift x100: Use to revert a Strangeling back into their original form.
