Square Enix has announced the release date of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, the latest expansion to Final Fantasy XIV Online, with information and updates.
Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida announced during their panel at Pax East 2024 that Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will be launched on July 2, 2024. Included in the expansion will feature a new location to explore, expanding the story of Final Fantasy XIV Online, new dungeons, and two new playable jobs, Pictomancer and Viper.
With the release of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, Yoshida has also revealed the collector edition for the expansion will be available to pre-order in limited quantities at the Square Enix Store on March 26, 2024, at 9:00 A.M. PST/12:00 P.M. EST. included in the bundle, it will include a code to the expansion for Windows and Mac and the physical collector box. Players can order the Collector’s box as a standalone product and pre-order the Dawntrail Digital Collector Edition separately on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Pre-ordering the Dawntrail digital collector’s edition will include a set of in-game items. With the pre-order comes Ark Mount from Final Fantasy IX, Garnet Minion from Final Fantasy IX, and a Chocobo Brush to be used as a weapon for Pictomancer.
Players who pre-order the standard edition of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will receive a set of bonuses, including early access to the game on June 28th, 2024, Wind-up Zidane Minion from Final Fantasy IX, and Azeyma’s Earrings to grant a 30% increase in EXP gained.
In the meantime, Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.58 has been released, featuring adjustments to playable content and the start of a new PVP season. With the update, the FINAL FANTASY XVI crossover questline, ‘The Path Infernal,’ will be available from April 2 through May 8 with rewards relating to FINAL FANTASY XVI for players completing the questline.
Final Fantasy XIV Online is available now for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can claim the Starter Edition of the game, which includes A Realm Reborn to Stormblood, three expansions that are equivalent to three full Final Fantasy titles, last-day to claim the game is on April 19. Players who purchase or receive the Starter Edition will receive in-game items to assist their adventure, including a Menphina Earring to give a 30% EXP Boost to level 80.
With the information about Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, fans of the MMO can expect to pre-order the game for Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on March 26, 2024. For new players, a Free Trial is available to download for all platforms including all the contents leading up to Stormblood expansion without a limit on playtime.
