Fortnite has been doing all kinds of musical collaborations lately, but this weekend they go heavy rock with the legendary metal band, Metallica, with six shows scattered through the weekend.
For this weekend only, Metallica will be spreading its wings to the gaming universe by deploying a six-show concert on Fortnite. The announcement has been revealed on The Metallica Report and the musical event will run the length of the weekend. The entire experience takes fans through five classic Metallica tracks plus — as is customary for the Metallica family — the live intro of Ennio Morricone’s “The Ecstasy of Gold.”

The Metallica Report can be listened to just about anywhere fans get their music, but frontman James Hetfield said in a statement “It [Fortnite] was a really cool idea. And the way it was explained to me is it’s a whole ‘nother continent. And we’ve played all seven so might as well play the eighth one, you know. So let’s get in on that. And yeah, explore and be adventurous and see what comes out of this. Why would we not?” The report digs much deeper into the topic, but with the popularity of Epic Games musical performances so far this stance is understood.
Fortnite has recently blown the door off the hinges with their latest performances on their Festival tab, Billie Eilish and Eminem are two artists who were heavily featured, and even Kid LAROI had their very own musical event. But last week, Metallica became the first band to take center stage across all currently available Fortnite experiences, with Metallica-themed gameplay in Festival, Battle Royale, LEGO, and Rocket Racing. In case fans missed it, a new season and a new way to play Fortnite Festival (Battle Stage) has also just launched.
How to Watch Fortnite‘s Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury.
First off, fans need to have a platform where they can play Fortnite, and luckily it is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android, PC and cloud-based streaming services (notably missing from iOS due to Apple and Epic Games problems). You only need to download the title and select the “Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury.” tile in the Discover screen from the menu. The showtimes are as follows:
- Saturday, June 22 – 2:00 p.m. EST, 5:00 p.m. EST & 11:00 p.m. EST
- Sunday, June 23 – 10:00 a.m. EST, 2:00 p.m. EST & 5:00 p.m. EST
Each showtime will be made available thirty minutes before each event, so even if you jump in after the listed start time you can experience the full show. Fans can find more information on the Epic Games website for this exciting event.
