Fortnite Battle Royale’s Cowabunga Launches Today & TMNT Returns!

It's Turtle Time!

Fortnite Battle Royale's Cowabunga Launches Today & TMNT Returns!

Following the previous teaser countdown launched earlier this February, Fortnite has finally launched the Battle Royale Cowabunga event, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have returned.

The massive Cowabunga event has finally hit Battle Island, and Epic Games has pulled back the curtain — and rolled out the red carpet — on TMNT’s return to Fortnite Battle Royale. An exciting cinematic trailer featuring everyone’s favourite turtles in a half-shell can be seen just below, in signature turtle styling with a comedic track while they dismantle foot soldiers with ease. The end of the trailer reveals their arch-nemesis, Shredder will also be making his way to Battle Island.

The Cowabunga event has gone live with Fortnite‘s v28.20 hotfix, and with the event, TMNT (and April O’Neil) will be making a return to the item shop, but on top of that, Shredder will be making his long-awaited Battle Island debut as a Premium Reward Track upgrade freebie. However, the final reward for the premium reward track for the Cowabunga event is Super Shredder!

Both, the base Shredder skin and Super Shredder will give combatants access to the LEGO Fortnite skin variants as a bonus. Master Splinter will also be available in the item shop during the Cowabunga event (along with a LEGO skin), but no mention of longstanding turtle ally, Casey Jones, has been made.
