Fortnite continues to add more and more characters to Battle Island, and the latest countdown timer in-game features the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their nefarious enemy, Shredder.

Epic Games has torn back the curtain on a new crossover event featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and when they’re coming to Fortnite’s Battle Island. Epic Games continues its seemingly never-ending mission to get every popular franchise to Battle Island in one capacity or another, and this time, it’s a new event featuring TMNT and their arch-enemy, Shredder. The official announcement comes from X (formerly Twitter), and it can be seen below.

The countdown ends on February 9 after the update v28.20 arrives in the game on Tuesday, February 6, that is when cowabunga will be unleashed on the island. The crossover will feature the usual Fortnite fare, new XP quests, and a special tab next to the Battle Pass tab on the main menu, and it is rumoured that the event will feature a mini-pass in the same vein as other collaborations have done in the past (like the most recent Solid Snake addition). It’s worth mentioning the event this time includes just five new outfits for combatants, four of which (the turtles themselves) have already made it into the game in December 2023 in an item shop bundle.

Before the event starts on February 9, Fortnite has released a set of challenges called “April O’Neil Investigates!” which rewards players with free XP upon completion. Simply talking to April nets players 10,000 XP, and then players can complete the following three tasks for 10,000 more XP each: Hide in Sewer entrances (1x), Visit the Underground HQ (1x), and Find empty pizza boxes around Battle Island (3x).

The new Fortnite x TMNT event lands on February 9, and fans can head on over to the official Epic Games website to catch up before it launches.
