Game Con Canada 2024: Esports Tournaments To Look Out For!

Game Con Canada 2024 is right around the corner with events to look forward to, but are you ready to partake in the eSports tournaments to show your skills? 

Game Con Canada will host many eSports tournaments for gamers to look out for in 2024 starting on June 14th. Some of the tournaments are held by partner companies such as Intel and MSI, while the rest are hosted by GCC. Gamers can earn sweet rewards by reaching the top brackets. 

From Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 8, and Fortnite, here are all the games you can look forward to as you participate in the Esports tournaments!

MSI Esports Tournaments at Game Con Canada 2024:

MSI is one of the biggest companies to hold multiple eSports tournaments during the GCC 2024, offering sweet rewards and cash prizes for the participant who has reached the top brackets. All the esports tournaments hosted by MSI are:

Fortnite Solos Tournament MSI Freeplay Area – Fortnite

  • The Fortnite Tournament will be held on June 14th, 2024 from 2:00 PM and onward.
  • $800 Prize Pool: 1st place will earn $500, 2nd place will earn $200, and 3rd place will receive $100.
  • Online Registration: Look for the Esports tab when purchasing your GCC day pass as it is mandatory to own the pass to participate in the tournament. Last day to register is June 13th, at 6:00 PM.    

Warzone Solos tournament MSI Freeplay Area – Call of Duty: Warzone

  • The Warzone Tournament will be held on June 15th, 2024 from 2:00 PM to onward.
  • $800 Prize Pool: 1st place will earn $500, 2nd place will earn $200, and 3rd place will receive $100.
  • Online Registration: Look for the Esports tab when purchasing your GCC day pass as it is mandatory to own the pass to participate in the tournament. Last day to register is June 13th, at 6:00 PM.  

MSI Gaming Arena – Valorant 

  • Starting on June 14th for qualifying single-elimination brackets, June 15th for 10 teams battling it out each day, and the showdown on June 16th on the Memory Express Mega Stage. 
  • $3000 Prize Pool: 1st place will earn $2000 cash and MSI goodies, while the 2nd place earns $1000 cash and MSI surprises.
  • As of now, the online registration has closed, with 20 teams registered. 

Intel eSport Tournament at Game Con Canada 2024:

Alongside MSI, Intel will be hosting a tournament for TEKKEN 8 with NorQuest College. By participating in the Esports tournaments, gamers can be rewarded with Intel hardware and cash price, but do you have what it takes? If so, Ready… FIGHT!

Intel Esports Tournament – TEKKEN 8

  • The TEKKEN 8 Tournament will be held from June 15th, 2024, at noon, with the finals taking place on June 16th at noon. Both days of the tournament will end whenever the final result is in. 
  • Prize: The 1st place will be rewarded an Intel Core i7 14700K CPU and Sparkle Intel Arc A750 Titan OC Edition, 2nd place will earn $250, 3rd place will earn $150, and the 4th place will earn $75. The cash prize will be provided by NorQuest College. 
  • Online Registration: Register from the eSports tab as you purchase your GCC day pass. The last day to register is 6:00 PM on June 13th, 2024. 

Tournaments hosted by Game Con Canada 2024:

Lastly, Game Con Canada will be hosting tournaments for gamers to participate for the chance to win a cash prize. From fighting to MOBA, players would need to bring their EH-game to the table and show the world who’s the boss!

Game Con Canada 2024: Esports Tournaments To Look Out For!

GCC Esports Tournament – Street Fighter 6

  • Street Fighter 6 Tournament will have two starting times depending on the pools of the group. June 14th, Pool A will start at noon and Pool B will start at 3 PM. June 15th, Pool C will start at noon and Pool D will start at 3 PM. As the players climb up the rank, the top 16 players will play at 7 PM on June 15th. 
  • $500 Prize Pool: 1st place will receive $300, 2nd place will get $150, and 3rd place will receive $50. 
  • Online Registration: Participants must register from the Esport tab when purchasing their GCC day pass. The last day to register is June 7th, at 11:59 PM in all NA time zones. 

GCC Esports Tournament 1v1 – League of Legends

  • The League of Legends 1v1 Tournament will be held on June 15th, as the top 32 start at 8:00 PM MST and continue until the Grand Finals at 10:30 PM MST.
  • $500 Prize Pool: 1st place will receive $300, 2nd place will get $150, and 3rd place will receive $50. 
  • Online Registration: Participants must register from the Tournament page when purchasing their GCC day pass. The last day to register is June 15th, at 6:00 PM MST.

GCC Esports Tournament 5v5 – League of Legends 

  • Ongoing Matches: Qualifier #3 is on May 25th, the Grand-Final Qualifier is on June 1st, and the Grand-Final is at GCC on June 15th. Taking place online and in person. 
  • Prize: Four to 31 teams, 1st place for each qualifier (4) will receive $300 and for the Grand Final, 1st place will receive $500 and 2nd place will receive $300. 32 to 55 teams, 1st place for each qualifier (4) will receive $300 and for the Grand Final, 1st place will receive $800 and 2nd place will receive $500. 56 to 64 teams, 1st place for each qualifier (4) will receive $300 and for the Grand Final, 1st place team will receive $1000, 2nd place will receive $500, and 3rd place will receive $300. 
  • Online Registration: participant must register from the Tournament page when purchasing their GCC day pass. The cut-off period is 24 hours before the start of each qualifier.  

GCC Esports Tournament – Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

  • The qualifying bracket will begin on June 14th for Pool A and B, and the 15th for Pool C and D. On both days, the qualification match will start at 11 AM MST for the first Pool (A and C) that day with the Casual bracket beginning at 1 PM MST. At 2 PM PST, the second Pool (B and D) for the day will start and end with a Ladder Bracket opening at 4 PM MST for both the days the qualification is going on. On June 16th, the top 32 will dish it out at 11 AM MST and end it at the top 4, with the top 3 final match going down at 4:30 PM MST. 
  • Prize: For players from 0 – 159, the 1st place will receive $400, the 2nd place will receive $200, the 3rd will receive $150, the 4th place will receive $100, the 5th place receiving $50, and the 6th place receiving $25. For the players from 160-192 players, the 1st place will receive $600, the 2nd place will receive $300, the 3rd place will receive $225, the 4th place receiving $150, the 5th place receiving $75, and the 6th place receiving $37.50. Alongside the prize, winners of the daily ladders will receive one Razer DeathAdder V3 wired E-Sports gaming mouse, and daily casual winners will receive a $25 Memory Express gift card. 
  • Online Registration: participant must register from the Tournament page when purchasing their GCC day pass. The last day to register is June 10th, at 11:59 PM MST.
