Genshin Impact Version 4.2 Release Leaked By PlayStation Amid Livestream Postponement

Genshin Impact‘s scheduled live stream to promote Version 4.2 today has been postponed, but PlayStation has accidentally leaked the release date in a now-deleted X post.

Genshin Impact Version 4.2 has been widely anticipated by travellers which could be thanks to the upcoming character releases headlined by the Fontaine nation’s Archon, Furina. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Genshin has posted a notice that today’s live stream, which would have revealed characters in the play and the upcoming release date, has been postponed. However, PlayStation appears to have spilled the beans on the information set to release in the live stream in a now-deleted post on X.

First off, fans have speculated the reason behind the postponement is the unfortunate passing of Li Keqiang, and the GenshinUpdate account seems to agree. In a post, GenshinUpdate says, “Li Keqiang (李克强), former Premier of the State Council of China, passed away in Shanghai on October 27 (today). This means China will be on their state funeral, so I think there will be some delay (at least for Nahida’s birthday art).” But aside from that, PlayStation appears to have leaked some details, screenshots and the release date.

Although the PlayStation X account (formerly Twitter) has now deleted the post that contains the leak, TechRaptor caught the details prior to the removal. While there were some screenshots of new characters coming in Version 4.2, Charlotte and Furina, the release date is alleged to be November 8. Also, PlayStation has said the next update “puts a bow” on the Fontaine storyline.

It’s worth mentioning that Genshin Impact has postponed its official announcement, so while PlayStation did post the release date as November 8, fans should take this news with a grain of salt until an official Genshin statement is made, especially considering the immediate nature of the leak deletion.
