It’s official, God of War (2018) is heading to PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store early next year on January 14th, 2022.

The news of PC debut for Kratos’ Norse mythology journey initially made waves through the game’s listing on both PC game stores. The game’s PC release was later confirmed by Sony through a PlayStation blog post from Sony Santa Monica community manager, Grace Orlady.

“Our primary goal when bringing God of War to PC was to highlight the exceptional content the team created and leverage the powerful hardware that the platform offers to create a uniquely breathtaking and high-performance version of the game,” Orlady said in a statement on the PlayStation Blog.

The PC version of God of War (2018) is set to add enhanced visuals, unlocked framerates, 4K resolution options, and Nvidia DLSS and Reflex support to the game. In addition, the game will also support multiple controllers as well as mouse and keyboard, and 21:9 ultrawide displays.

From higher resolution shadows and improved screen space reflections to enhancements to the ambient occlusion pipeline with GTAO and SSDO – God of War on the PC can create striking visual quality unique to the platform,” Orlady adds.

To celebrate the release announcement of God of War (2018) on Steam and the Epic Games Store, PC players will get some bonus content when the game releases early next year. That content is as listed below.

  • Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus

PlayStation has stated in the past that it’s looking to release more of its exclusive catalogue on PC and even purchased PC port studio, Nixxies Software not too long ago. One of 2018’s best games is coming to PC is even less of a surprise as the game was one of many included in a leak of Nvidia’s GeForce Now database.

God of War (2018) is scheduled to release on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on January 14th, which PC players can preorder now for $49.99 USD.
