Kr-Atreus In Four Flavours

God of War Ragnarök Pre-orders Are Available Now In 4 Separate Editions

God of War Ragnarök can be considered the most anticipated title of 2021 and 2022, being the sequel of the highly successful GOTY God of War, and fans looking to pre-order can do so NOW.

Ahead of its highly anticipated release date revealed last week to be November 9th, with the light at the end of the tunnel, God of War Ragnarök is finally up for pre-order at numerous retailers, with numerous editions for every type of fan of the murder enthusiast Kratos in his new ventures in Asgard. With the PC port of the original Norse God of War happening nearly four years after the 2018 release, it remains to be seen if the sequel will ever hit PC, and is as such still an immediate PlayStation console exclusive.

God of War Ragnarök Digital Deluxe edition

The four editions come with their own incentives on which to buy and why to buy. The above shown Digital Deluxe edition comes with the full title for the previous PS4 generation and the PS5, with a Dark Horse Comics digital mini artbook, a full game digital soundtrack, Darkdale Armor for Kratos and Darkdale Tunic for Atreus, with an avatar set, and of course, Darkdale weapon flavours for Kratos’ two signature weapons.

God of War Ragnarök Standard Physical Edition

Not much to see here, a standard physical bare-bones copy of the title, with an option for PS4 users to upgrade to PS5 for $10. Snow Armor for Kratos and Snow Tunic for Atreus can be acquired with this edition as well.

God of War Ragnarök Collector’s Edition

This edition will set adopters back $199, and includes a bounty worthy of any aspiring spartan in Asgard, including a Hemsworth-less Mjolnir replica. It’s worth noting that disappointingly, the two pricey collector’s editions don’t include a physical disc copy of the game, but a download code for both editions.

  • Printed voucher code for the full God of War Ragnarök game on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, with a stylish steelbook display case (no game disc included)
  • 2” Vanir Twins Carvings which completes the set started by the God of War 2018 collector’s edition, with carvings of the Vanir Twins.
  • A Dwarven Dice Set
  • 16” Mjölnir Replica, wield the power of the thunder god with his signature weapon, designed after his appearance in God of War, with no Avengers or Love & Thunder.
  • In-game Kratos Darkdale Armor and Atreus Darkdale Tunic, with Darkdale Handles for the Blades of Chaos and Leviathan Axe
  • Official God of War Ragnarök Digital Soundtrack with Dark Horse Digital Mini Artbook, an Avatar Set and a PlayStation 4 Theme

God of War Ragnarök JÖTNAR Edition

The cream of the crop, this is the biggest special edition for the title announced thus far, and will set consumers back $259 for the sequel. This edition comes with mostly everything from the collector’s edition, but with added incentives.

  • In place of the digital soundtrack, a seven-inch vinyl record with music by Bear McCreary will be included with two tracks from composer Bear McCreary.
  • A Falcon, Bear, and Wolf Pin Set which represents the protagonists family Faye, Kratos, and Atreus.
  • The Legendary Draupnir Ring from Norse mythology will be included, with a sigil laden red cloth bag to hold it.
  • Brok’s Dice Set in place of the dwarven dice set from the collector’s, this dice set comes with a metallic silver finish with blue detailing and a dice bag complete with the Huldra Brothers’ sigil.
  • A detailed Yggdrasil cloth map.

It is worth mentioning as of this posting that the collectors and JÖTNAR editions have been sold out online at most retailers in North America, but in-person store pre-orders are still available at this time, so calling your local game store to see if they have this opportunity available isn’t the worst idea for those looking to wield the mighty Mjolnir.
