IFA 2026: Acer Unleashes Predator 7 Handheld

At IFA 2026, Acer brought the goods when it comes to handheld gaming, and they’ve unveiled the upgraded Predator 7 and the Project DualPlay Mini concept, proving they’re going all in when it comes to handheld computing.

Acer today unveiled the Predator Atlas 7, a new addition to the Predator handheld portfolio that brings the same performance of the recent 8-inch model into a more compact 7-inch form factor. Acer is also unveiling Project DualPlay Mini, an innovative concept that functions as both a high-powered gaming handheld and a mobile productivity device, blurring the line between designs for gaming and working. Both devices received the red-carpet treatment at the Next@Acer press conference, which can be seen on the official Acer YouTube channel.

First up, the new 7-inch Predator Atlas 7 (PA07-I51) is powered by (up to) an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and (up to) Intel Arc B390 graphics for reliable handheld gaming performance. Unveiled at IFA 2026, the Predator Atlas 7 features a 7-inch (16:9) FHD touchscreen, boasting a 120 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness. The joysticks come with a TMR (tunnelling magnetoresistance) option for greater precision and anti-drift capabilities, so fans can remain in the game and off the maintenance screens. An onboard memory of up to 1TB on SSD is standard for portable PCs, and the Predator Atlas 7 is no different, with up to 24 GB LPDDR5x in tandem.

The Acer Predator Atlas 7 allows users zero dead zones, with Hall-effect analog triggers on board to support shoot-heavy titles. Connectivity remains a non-issue, as Acer deploys dual Thunderbolt 4 ports to provide high-bandwidth docking, display output, and accessory connections. Finally, an 80W battery is included under the chassis to provide long gaming trips without the need for an outlet.

The second handheld shown at the Next@Acer 2026 showcase as part of IFA 2026 is in concept only, and like many of the developments unveiled at CES 2026, it’s possible this device stays that way. The 8-inch Project DualPlay Mini is a conceptual device from the Predator brand that reimagines what a gaming handheld form factor can do. Rather than serving a single purpose, the Predator concept is based around two form factors: utilization for gaming and productivity, without requiring the need for two separate devices.

The Project DualPlay Mini unveiled at IFA 2026 supports two control configurations for gaming. A built-in backlit physical keyboard enables the DualPlay Mini to enter traditional laptop mode for first-person shooter games, while the gaming handheld mode supports console-like experiences for other titles. For productivity, the device operates as a mobile work device capable of connecting to an external screen, allowing users to stay productive without needing a second device designated for work.

The Predator Atlas 7, unveiled at IFA 2026, will be available in North America from Q4 2026 and in EMEA from November 2026 onwards, and the Project DualPlay Mini is a concept only. Consumers looking for everything IFA 2026 can find more coverage on CGMagazine.
