Acer announced a new gaming handheld, the Predator Atlas 8, due out this October.
Acer announced a new gaming handheld, along with details on new handheld processors. The new handheld, known as the Predator Atlas 8, will be powered by the new Intel Arc G-series processors. The Predator Atlas 8 will run Windows 11 and include a subscription to XBOX Game Pass. The new handheld promises to deliver top-of-the-line performance and battery.

The new Intel Arc G3 Extreme Processor will support up to Intel Arc B390 graphics with support for ray tracing, using Intel XESS 3 upscaling for high frame rates. It also packs an 80 Wh battery working in tandem with Intel Endurance Gaming, balancing frame rate and power draw for more gaming hours.
The Predator Atlas 8 also features dual-fan cooling with a metal fan, a first in a handheld, designed to keep the device cool under intense sessions. The new blades are just 0.1mm thick, with 89 blades in the device, delivering up to a 10% increase in airflow. The second fan is plastic, helping guide air more efficiently.

The Predator Atlas 8 will also include an 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, VRR support, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXS cover glass to keep it scratch- and glare-free. It features dual 2-Watt speakers with DTS:X Ultra audio and dual microphones. Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 round out the package, with Thunderbolt 4 ports for docking and display output.
The new Arc G-Series processors are purpose-built for next-generation handheld gaming, based on Intel Core Ultra Series 3, delivering optimized performance and power efficiency. They’ll support ray tracing and XeSS 3, including 2 P-cores, 8 E-cores, and 4 LP E-cores, manufactured on Intel 18A Process node technology.

Chief Operating Officer at Acer, Jerry Kao, said: “With the Predator Atlas 8, we are combining the Predator design philosophy with the power of the new Intel Arc G-series processors to blur the lines between gaming PC and handheld performance. From the Predator AeroBlade cooling system to PredatorSense to the adaptive trigger controls, every element of this handheld is curated to give gamers maximum control over their own experiences, wherever they choose to play.”
Senior Vice President and General Manager, Client Computing Group at Intel, Jim Johnson, continued: “Handheld gamers want PC-class performance without being tied to a desktop or charger. With Intel Arc G-Series processors and Acer’s Predator Atlas 8, we deliver smooth, high-fidelity gameplay with exceptional battery life in a form factor you can take anywhere. By combining console-like accessibility with innovative technologies like AI-powered XeSS 3 upscaling, we maximize performance and efficiency on the go.”
The Predator Atlas 89 is set to release in October 2026, launching in North America, EMEA, and Australia.
