Acer delivers solid offerings with the Predator line of gaming monitors and routers that deliver in all the ways gamers need. The Acer Predator has long stood as one of the strongest gamer-focused offerings that goes beyond just offering a bold look, bringing the features and specs that give you an edge over the competition.
With its latest line of monitors, Acer is clearly aiming to capture the attention of hardcore gamers who want cutting-edge displays to match their high-end rigs. The star of the lineup is the massive 57-inch Predator Z57, a gaming monster with a curved panel that delivers 4K resolution at a blistering 120Hz refresh rate. Acer claims this is the first monitor of its size to achieve VESA’s DisplayHDR 1000 certification for peak brightness of up to 1000 nits, producing images with incredible contrast and colour. Acer says it covers 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut for true-to-life visuals, keeping games and media looking their absolute best.
For gamers who crave an ultra-wide display, the 34″ Predator X34 V3 has everything you could ask for from a monitor in 2024. It shares many of the same display specs as the Z57, including Mini LED backlighting with 2,304 dimming zones, quantum dot technology for a wide colour gamut and DisplayHDR 1000 compliance. The 1800R’s curved screen provides an immersive experience, while the fast 180Hz refresh rate and Nvidia G-Sync support ensure smooth, high-frame-rate gameplay.
Rounding out the Acer Predator monitor CES 2024 range are two new OLED models that deliver the deep blacks and pixel response times that OLED is known for. The 39-inch Predator X39 and 34-inch Predator X34 X offer blistering 240Hz refresh rates and 0.01ms response times, as well as DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. Each monitor covers 99% of the DCI-P3 colour space for vibrant and accurate colours.
Although often neglected by gamers, networking is an incredibly important aspect of any setup, especially when playing online, and Acer has not forgotten this fact. Acer is keeping up with the latest Wi-Fi standards by introducing Predator routers with Wi-Fi 7 and mesh support. The Predator Connect X7 5G CPE combines 5G and Wi-Fi 7 for multi-gigabit wireless speeds, while the Predator Connect T7 tri-band mesh router uses Qualcomm’s FastConnect 7800 platform to deliver low-latency performance between mesh nodes. Both models also include software enhancements for traffic prioritization and network security tailored to gaming needs.
With these new Predator monitors and routers, Acer is bringing some of the best gaming hardware to market. I’m betting that competitive eSports players and streaming personalities will be lining up to get their hands on the flagship Predator Z57 monitor when it launches later this year. Between its impressive size and specs, it looks primed to become a must-have centrepiece display for ambitious powerhouse PC builds. The OLED and Wi-Fi 7 models are also exciting and show that Acer is keeping the Predator brand at the forefront of innovation.
