As the year comes to a close, it has been reported by law enforcement that Betty White passed away at her home on Friday, December 31. Known for her comedy and acting, she leaves behind an eight-decade long career, where she has touched the hearts of countless people all over the world.

Known for the many characters she brought to life on the big and small screens, she is perhaps most notable for her role as Rose Nylund in the popular The Golden Girls, that ran from 1985 all the way to 1992.

While White is most known for her acting, she got her start in Radio in 1930 at the age of eight. Betty White was a staple on many game shows, including Password, Match Game, Tattletales, To Tell the Truth, The Hollywood Squares and The $25,000 Pyramid. She would later win a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host for her work on Just Men! in 1983.

White has had a storied career with over 115 acting credits to her name, with her appearances always bringing smiles to viewers faces. She has appeared in countless roles on shows such as The Bold and the Beautiful, Boston Legal, The Carol Burnett Show, and Saturday Night Live. Over her years, she has also brought many movie characters to life, such as Grammy Norma in The Lorax, Mrs. Delores Bickerman in Lake Placid, and Bitey White in Toy Story 4.

With a plethora of awards under her belt, including 5 Primetime Emmy Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, a 2012 Grammy, along with American Comedy Awards, she also has many nominations for Golden Globes, lifetime achievement awards through many organizations, and was invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at age 95.

While she has had a storied career, even at age 99, she still makes headlines, with actors and the public talking about her daily. Even as soon as yesterday, Ryan Reynolds tweeted about her, bringing up an article mentioning them both.

Less than days before her 100th birthday, we here at CGMagazine honour her years of work, and storied career, that few actors have even come close to comparing to. Betty White will be missed.
