Gran Turismo 7 has been on the market for over three years, and in that time, the entire franchise has sold over 100 million units as of June 2025. In celebration, Polyphony Digital is giving new buyers another reason to start their engines late: newcomers will get thousands of credits for jumping in after the first call.
The fan-favourite Gran Turismo franchise isn’t going anywhere soon. This year, Polyphony Digital celebrated 100 million units sold across the Gran Turismo franchise’s history since the first release hit shelves in 1997 for the original PlayStation. CGMagazine’s review of Gran Turismo 7 calls it “the definitive driving experience of this generation,” and it’s the latest release in the franchise as the series hits this huge milestone.

Gran Turismo Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi said, “To pick up a video game box in a store, and line up at the cash register to purchase it; this action takes at least a few minutes to complete. To think that this has happened over 100 million times around the world really blows my mind,” regarding the immense milestone Gran Turismo accomplished, and to say thank you to fans who haven’t yet jumped behind the wheel, Polyphony is giving thousands of credits away with digital purchases.
Fans can head to the PlayStation Store right now and check out with a Standard copy of Gran Turismo 7 and receive 750,000 in-game credits to start with. The Gran Turismo 7 Deluxe Edition doubles that figure and gives fans 1,500,000 credits at checkout (credits have been notoriously hard to farm in-game). These free in-game gifts are the development team’s way of saying thanks to all the fans who have gone to the checkout line in the nearly 30 years since the original release, giving newcomers a boost to head to the starting line.

All fans have to do is head to the PlayStation Store Gran Turismo 7 page and check out with either version of the title to receive the in-game credits automatically. The next major Gran Turismo 7 update, “Spec III,” is scheduled for December 2025 and will include new tracks and cars for players who own the game free of charge.
