PlayStation has recently announced details of the Gran Turismo World Series 2024 for players of Gran Turismo 7 on PS4 and PS5.
As part of the annual World Series event, the World Series 2024 will be launching two new formats. Nations Cup and the Manufactures Cup will each have six rounds of Online Qualifiers starting on April 17, 2024, and the best players will progress to four live rounds, culminating in the World Finals. Rounds 1-3 of the Gran Turismo World Series event will be held in Montreal, Prague, and Tokyo, and details about the venue for the World Finals have not been announced yet.
If unfamiliar with the Gran Turismo series, it was released as a real driving simulator in 1997 on the first PlayStation. The game utilizes a lineup of cars from real-life manufacturers for gamers to use and drive in a realistic virtual world as they race and participate in tournaments locally or in multiplayer. 25 years after the release of the first Gran Turismo, many sequels have been released across PlayStation consoles, and we are now on the 7th iteration of Gran Turismo for the PS4 and PS5.
Gran Turismo 7 offers 400 cars from 60+ automotive brands, tracks from 37 locations, the ability to learn and customize cars, improved physics, Sports mode dedicated to eSport, and many more features.
To participate in the Gran Turismo World Series, players must own a copy of Gran Turismo 7 on the PS4 or PS5 and enter the series by heading to the sports mode in the game. When the players select the mode, they can sign up for the Nation Cup to represent their home country or territory and/or sign up for the Manufactures Cup to race for their favourite manufacturers. At the end of the Online Qualifier, the top players will be selected to attend the live event of Gran Turismo World Series 2024.

More information about the World Finals is to be released soon. For fans unable to attend the live event, they can watch each round set to be broadcast live online and on YouTube.
