Today, Obsidian has released details surrounding a new update for Grounded that improves gameplay for all and adds a new mode that will be available to play on November 13th.
Grounded was released over a year ago to positive reviews, and fans have traipsed through the perils of exploring while incredibly small since in an attempt to “Go Home.” Obsidian Entertainment has kept the game fresh with updates and a multitude of changes that help keep fans coming back for more survival adventuring, including Patch 1.2.6 which launched back in September. Obsidian has shoved open the floodgates today for a big update coming to the game on November 13th, with a brand new mode called ‘Playgrounds’.

Playgrounds grants Grounded players access to a multitude of tools that allow them to create their own challenges — aside from the ones the game throws you face first into — and share them with other survivalists in the yard. Fans have a choice to make, whether they would like to start with Grounded‘s built-in backyard sandbox or start with a blank slate. With the new ‘Make it or Break it’ content update, players can unleash a myriad of items, set up advanced logic options for expert game mechanics, experiment, set up battle arenas, and more.
Grounded Game Director Adam Brennecke said “Giving people the opportunity to extend the lifetime of the games they enjoy is always really cool, which was very important to us. We’ve always wanted to see what the community can make with these tools” adding “I think people just want more Grounded, and we’re definitely providing that… in a different way, and we’re excited to see where it goes.”
