Halo Campaign Evolved reveals new missions that take place before the original first game, as part of XBOX Games Showcase 2026.
At XBOX Games Showcase 2026, XBOX dropped a surprising announcement for a classic XBOX title. Before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, the Master Chief and Sgt Johnson take part in Operation: Meteorite, in which they infiltrate a mysterious Covenant ship on a clandestine assignment. Experience their fight behind enemy lines in the form of three all-new bonus missions included in Halo: Campaign Evolved.
The Halo: Campaign Evolved trailer showed off the Master Chief and Sgt Johnson on a new Covenant planet with all the Covenant creatures we know. Also, there will be a space flying mission that has never really been a thing in the franchise. It was unclear if this would be a co-op experience. The new missions look super vibrant and fresh. While the missions take place before the original Halo: Combat Evolved, it still worked within the canon. But the colours were popping, and seeing Needler ammo flying never looked better.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is still scheduled for July 28. Pre-order the Premium or Collector’s Edition and get up to 5 days of early access beginning July 23, 2026.
