We apparently aren’t just getting a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, as claims of development for new Halo 2 and 3 remakes begin to surface.
Last October, Halo Studios released 13 minutes of gameplay demo footage for their upcoming title Halo: Campaign Evolved, another remake of the first game in the series. The reveal was met with mixed reception, as many view 343 Industries’ rebrand as Halo Studios as nothing more than a thin coat of paint, suggesting many old problems may still be present even as they strive to improve.
While Halo fans have been discussing the potential of Campaign Evolved, there have been rumours of Halo Studios remaking more entries into the series. Some of the strongest claims for this have been from video game reporter Mr. Rebs, who made an “exclusive report” detailing the development of the Halo 2 and 3 remakes, and more projects Halo Studios is working on.
According to Mr. Rebs’ sources, the development of the next two remakes are having an impact on Campaign Evolved, as the new prequel mission content confirmed to be added to the game will allegedly include Brutes, an enemy introduced to the game series in Halo 2. If true, the Brutes will have designs based on their Halo: Reach models, being featured as full enemies in some of the new prequel content, and can appear in the remade missions if a new skull modifier is activated.
Mr. Rebs also claims to have found confirmation from Halo Studios about development on a new multiplayer project and the next mainline entry into the series. It’s refreshing to hear there will be some sort of multiplayer experience coming to Halo’s next era, as Campaign Evolved will only include its campaign namesake.
