IO Interactive is shaking things up this December as global rap icon Eminem steps into the shoes of an operative in Hitman World of Assassination.
Hitman, known for its creative assassinations and memorable cameos, is rolling out its next major Elusive Target mission featuring Detroit rapper Eminem. Fans can dive into this special crossover starting Dec. 1, with the content running through the end of the month.
This collaboration gives players the unusual opportunity to team up with Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, as he faces off against his notorious alter ego, Slim Shady. The mission, set within the twisted walls of Popsomp Hills Asylum, mixes the classic stealth action of Hitman with Eminem’s signature style and themes. As his tracks often blur the line between truth and fiction, so does this playable scenario, where dreamlike elements meet the stark reality of Agent 47’s world, to a mission unlike any other.

Stepping away from his recent attempts to shed the Slim Shady persona — most notably in his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady — Mathers finds his old alter ego at the centre of chaos. Within the asylum, Slim Shady has turned a former surgical theatre into a live-broadcast studio, staging unpredictable performances for doctors, patients and anyone caught in his path. The setting mirrors the rapper’s volatility, with scenarios that push players through recording spaces and eccentric training sessions marked by Slim’s unmistakable stamp.
Keeping with the elaborate worlds seen in the past, IO Interactive has packed the level with small details for fans to discover, from a poisoned spaghetti sandwich at Eminem’s in-game restaurant to surreal renditions of tracks like “Houdini” drifting through the asylum halls. These nods build toward a showdown that flips the usual rules of the franchise, asking players to balance stealth, strategy and a dose of showmanship.
To mark the occasion, the Eminem vs. Slim Shady Pack will also be available, offering themed cosmetics, a new suit and mission-specific items for $4.99 during the event’s run. Both newcomers and series veterans can access the mission for free through the game’s Starter Pack, making it easy for anyone to jump in and enjoy this unique crossover.
