While Fall might be around the corner, HP is still celebrating a summer of gaming with a whole host of new tech that is sure to please.
CGM attended a virtual press briefing where Senior Director of Experience Engineering for HP Gaming, Haval Othman, gave reporters an extensive breakdown of some of the new products being unveiled. “At HP Gaming Solution, we believe in one simple truth,” Othman said, continuing, “we are all gamers and that belief drives everything we do.” According to Othman, design is built around a “3P Pillar framework,” which is: Performance, Personalization, and Play.
The first device shown was HP’s OMEN Max 45L Desktop. According to Othman, this is HP’s most powerful gaming desktop ever. At its most powerful, the OMEN Max 45L boasts an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor with up to a 5.7 GHz max boost clock,128MB L3 cache, and 16 cores (32 threads). This is backed by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Graphics Card with 32 GB GDDR7 Memory.
However, what really sets the OMEN Max 45L Desktop apart is its industry-first, patented CRYO CHAMBER cooling system. According to Othman, this is a specialized thermal architecture that isolates and separates the heat-generating component from the other parts of the system, which leads to reducing overall internal temperature. This allows for greater overall performance and hardware longevity. On top of this, the system has been redesigned for superior airflow, allowing for a two-degree drop in GPU temperature.
But the best feature, according to Othman, is the system’s fully modular 1200W PSU that offers both fan control and auto-fan cleaning. The cooling system even features an LCD screen that can be customized and personalized through the OMEN Gaming Hub. HP’s OMEN Max 45L will feature “OMEN AI,” which is designed to use machine learning to optimize performance across the CPU based on which game is being played and at what settings.
Alongside the OMEN Max 45 L, HP is also releasing two refreshed OMEN 35L Gaming Laptops. While both will include support for up to an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX
5090 graphics card, the OMEN 35L Stealth Edition features a sleek and more minimalist design that is much better for work and play. As Othman joked, “You know, at home my wife always thinks that I’m always playing a game, and I swear I’m not. I’m just compiling my codes, but the flurry of RGB lighting just makes it look like I’m always playing games!”
Shifting from hardware to accessories, Othman showed off the newest line of HyperX Cloud wireless headsets. “Every gamer deserves gear that keeps up—an immersive headset to stay locked in the action, a crystal clear microphone to ensure your voice is heard, and an easy, intuitive software layer that unlocks and customize the experience,” said Othman. The first headset, the HyperX Cloud Alpha 2, offers 53mm dual-chamber drivers, up to 250 hours of battery life in 2.4 GHz mode and durable lightweight material.
The HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 also utilizes HyperX NGENUITY software alongside P’s first reprogrammable RGB Base Station in a wireless gaming headset. Following Alpha’s lead in customization, the new HyperX Cloud Flight 2 brings a dynamic personalization experience with full RGB panels, removable earcup plates, and long battery life, whether on PC, PlayStation, or mobile. The Official Xbox-licensed HyperX CloudX Flight 2 brings extra compatibility for Xbox gamers.
Lastly, Othman spoke on HP’s new line of HyperX Microphones: the HyperX FlipCast and the HyperX SoloCast 2. The HyperX Flipcast is a dynamic USB and XLR microphone, letting creators record multiple ways in a studio-ready form factor built to evolve with their setup. Not only that, the Flipcast can record at a 32-bit depth, 192 kilohertz. The SoloCast 2, on the other han,d offers the same quality, but with streamlined sound and compact versatility for everyday users.
