Warframe is known for introducing new cinematic updates each time Digital Extremes has a new addition to the title, and for Jade Shadows, it puts a fan-favourite in the spotlight.
Today’s Devstream for Warframe had Digital Extremes reveal a haul of new information for the upcoming Jade Shadows update. First off, Jade Shadows will feature the 57th Warframe, Jade in a supporter role during a new single-player quest where the new Warframe is featured. The newly announced Ascension mission type and Clan Operation: Belly of the Beast are following full steam ahead, and have also revealed notable details.
Aside from the upcoming mission details, Digital Extremes also laid out the groundwork for their upcoming TennoCon 2024 schedule and more. Below is a teaser of the new third entry in the Heirloom line of cosmetics, revealed today during the stream.
Community Director Morgan Everett said “This marks our last Devstream until TennoCon, so we tried to pack it with as many goodies as we could to chew on until then,” with “The team has really been looking forward to finally tell the Stalker’s story. We’ve also never made a Warframe like Jade before, we’re all stoked! So stay hungry Tenno, we are cooking some real tasty treats for everyone with Jade Shadows and beyond. Sometimes it’s a detour from the main story, sometimes it’s all connected, we intend to keep everyone on their toes for the rest of the year.”
The new Jade Shadows single-player mission inserts the player into a quest that features one of the more elusive characters in the Warframe universe, The Stalker. After quest completion, fans will be able to enter the capable boots of a brand new Warframe, Jade, and she plays a supportive role. Jade’s “Angelic Choir” abilities allow for buffs to spread across the battlefield for allies and debuffs for enemies.
After completing Jade Shadows, Warframe allows fans to dive back in with a new vertical mission type, Ascension. Warframe has brought their brand of elevator enemy waves mission, as fans will have to escape the bottom layer of an enemy base by hijacking an enormous elevator while fighting off waves of opponents and stealing power cells to keep the lift rising. This new Ascension mission lays the groundwork for the new Clan Operation: Belly of the Beast, which operates as an epilogue for Jade Shadows and asks players to go back into the enemy base.
