In collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, Stern Pinball has debuted its new Jaws 50th Anniversary Premium Edition pinball at San Diego Comic-Con 2025.
Steven Spielberg introduced the world to Jaws 50 years ago, a terrifying shark film that spawned sequels, merchandise, and a fan base. To celebrate the film’s 50th anniversary, Stern Pinball and Universal Products & Experiences are launching the Jaws 50th Anniversary Premium Edition pinball at San Diego Comic-Con 2025. Fans and cinephiles can check out the new pinball at the Stern Pinball official booth (#4029) and the annual Stern Pop-up Arcade at the Marriott Marquis from July 24 to 27.
Premiered in 1975, Jaws covers the story of a shark on a rampage near the New England town of Amity Island, after the death of a young woman. Although the police chief, Martin Brody, wanted to close the beaches, Mayor Larry Vaughn refuses as he fears the town will cripple from lack of tourist revenue. With the shark roaming and causing havoc, an ichthyologist, Matt Hooper and a ship captain, Quint, join Brody to capture the wild beast.
Focusing on the pinball machine design, the Jaws 50th Anniversary Premium Edition features a striking “Blood Red” armour kit, including matching legs, hinges, front moulding, and side armour with standard premium shapes. In addition to the kit, the pinball machine features a playfield with glitter-enhanced artwork, brass powder-coated wireform ramps, a 50th Anniversary hologram sticker, a distinctive translite, and cabinet decals.
To enhance the gameplay, Stern has updated the code to include new features. The newly added features are Team Play and Co-op, allowing players to play together and share progress, along with two new wizard modes: “Wheel Award Final Wizard Mode” and “Smile you sonofa…Wizard Mode.”
Celebrating Jaws’ 50th anniversary, the President and CEO of Stern Pinball, Seth Davis, has shared: “We’re honoured to celebrate 50 years of Jaws with a new pinball experience that captures the heart and soul of the film. With the 50th Anniversary Premium Edition, we’ve added new cosmetic features that we know all pinball fans and Jaws enthusiasts will love just in time for the 4th of July!”
The Jaws 50th Anniversary Premium Edition will be available for $9,699 USD across Stern Pinball partnered retailers and the official Stern Store, alongside Jaws Limited Edition games, Premium Edition games, Pro Edition games, and accessories.
