Despite having a picture-perfect setup for forays into video games, both the John Wick and Saw franchises only have one apiece. But that might be changing in the near future, based on the latest earnings call from Lionsgate itself.

During the call (which you can see a complete transcript of on Yahoo Finance), Chairman of the Motion Picture Group Adam Fogelson provided an update on key initiatives.

Our AAA game opportunities and other gaming opportunities around John Wick and Saw and some others that we’ll be announcing soon, we’re seeing increased interest and increased opportunity, and we remain on schedule. I think in totality, you are going to see a meaningfully additive financial opportunity coming in the coming years,” said Fogelson.

John Wick And Saw Games In Development, Confirmed By Lionsgate

This seemingly confirms that not only are John Wick and Saw games in development, but that they could be considered “AAA” titles as well, something that cannot be said about previous adaptations.

The potential for a John Wick video game has been mentioned by Lionsgate before. Back in 2022, the company said it was “exploring” pitches for a game adaptation. So while this suggests Lionsgate is actively pursuing the idea, we still do not know where either project is on the development timeline. We do not know whether developers have signed on or any deals have been made. Both games could still be in the early concept phase. That means you should not expect to see anything for at least a year or two.

John Wick’s only video game is John Wick Hex, a 2019 tactical role-playing game developed by Bithell Games. It used a unique timeline approach, where you guide Wick through a hex-based grid, brutally taking down enemies while managing resources. Unfortunately, John Wick Hex was delisted from digital storefronts in July 2025, after publishing rights changed to Big Fan Games.

For Saw, on the other hand, there are two survival horror titles, Saw: The Video Game (2009) and its sequel Saw II: Flesh and Blood (2010). Both games are developed by Zombie Studios and published by Konami, but both were reviewed rather unfavorably — with clunky combat, an overreliance on quick-time events, and a “budget” feeling being just a few of the reasons.

No matter how you look at it, both of these franchises are overdue for a big video game win.
