We already knew that a new Kingdom Come RPG was on the way from Warhorse; the studio announced as much itself back in May. But now it looks like Warhorse has trademarked “Kingdom Come Salvation,” seemingly dropping the “Deliverance” that has been present in the title of the first two games.
As spotted by Australian site Phrasemaker, the trademark, which was initially private, has now been updated as belonging to Warhorse Studios, and even sports an identical font type to the previous announcement.
While it’s a pretty by-the-numbers trademark overall, there is one particularly interesting line that states “entertainment services for matching users with computer games.” While that doesn’t outright confirm a multiplayer mode or anything, previous Kingdom Come games haven’t featured any kind of matching component, so it could suggest some sort of multiplayer or cooperative feature is at least in the scope of what Worhorse is looking to do.
Other than that, we don’t really know anything else about the new game — but the subtitle would suggest that this might be seen as more of a spinoff or side entry rather than a main one. It’s easy to imagine, in that case, that it might star someone other than Henry of Skalitz. We also don’t have a release window for Kingdom Come Salvation, although communications director Tobias Stolz-Zwilling said in a community livestream, “You know how game development works, so this is the plan: next fiscal year. That’s where we want to release it, and again, we will do what we can to do that, to achieve that.”
Outside of Kingdom Come, we know the studio also has a big new The Lord of the Rings open-world RPG, set in Middle-Earth. While we also don’t have any details about the Middle-Earth RPG, presumably Kingdom Come Salvation would release first.
