In a Director’s Letter to fans, Neowiz’s Ji Won Choi has confirmed a Lies of P sequel and upcoming DLC after the title has sold over a million copies in one month following release.
Lies of P launched in September to an overwhelmingly positive response. In a rare agreement between critics and users, Metacritic has the title listed at a cool 80% from critics and 83% from users, and overall fans seem to dig the steampunk aesthetic and fine-tuned Soulslike gameplay. CGMagazine’s review from Jordan Biordi states “Lies of P exceeds its SoulsBorne inspirations and is easily one of the best games of the year.”
With all the success of selling over a million units within the first month of release and a positive fan reception, Game Director Ji Won Choi has taken to YouTube in a Director’s Letter to thank fans and confirm a few upcoming decisions, including DLC and a full-fledged sequel. The video can be seen below.
In the letter, Choi says “Our highest priority is developing the DLC and working on our sequel,” with “The dev team is putting in significant effort, brainstorming and exploring different aspects of the projects” thus the confirmation of the sequel. The Director’s Letter also showed a sneak peek of the upcoming update with screenshots for the first DLC and upcoming content.

As per fans’ request, Lies of P will also allow character customization to go deeper. A new feature will be added allowing fans to equip glasses and hats separately, and the update helps fix the growing pains associated with playing Soulslike titles. Players will get the Rising Dodge ability as a default skill, allowing gameplay to become a little easier in the early stages, as well as numerous quality-of-life changes that alter character and weapon balancing.

While the Director’s Letter did have Ji Won Choi thank Lies of P fans for playing and did confirm DLC and a sequel, fans are left completely in the dark without a release date. For more information as it arrives, fans can swing over to the official Neowiz website for more information.
